Red Squirrel Trail, Shanklin
Red Squirrel Trail
The Red Squirrel Trail totals around 32 miles in length starting from East Cowes. The most popular stretch is a loop from Shanklin, through Wroxall, Merstone and Sandown and back along the coast to Shanklin, a much more manageable 14 miles approximately.

The true delight of the Red Squirrel Trail is not only the possibility of spotting a red squirrel or even the huge variety of other wildlife on show but the varied landscapes through which the route travels - woodland, wetland, farmland and of course the iconic coastline.
