Romantic Getaway to the Isle of Wight
The Isle of Wight must be one of the most romantic places in the UK to visit at anytime of the year but particularly during the winter months, when it is quieter. Shanklin is the perfect romantic escape for you and your partner.

Shanklin Bay has one of the most stunning beaches and coastal paths to walk along; some of the best restaurants, pubs, and bars around for a romantic dinner for two; as well as some beautiful places to stay for the most romantic night of the year!

What could be more charming than a coastal walk along the Shanklin to Sandown revetment? With panoramic views of the shoreline, golden rays from the sands and a passing ship or two. There are plenty of places to stop along the route for a warming hot chocolate, or for those braver, an ice cream. For those more adventurous why not take the coastal and inland path to Ventnor, through sweeping landscapes and across St Boniface Downs.

Shanklin Old Village is steeped in history and contains some of the oldest dwellings on the Island of which the majority are Thatched. It is on a slightly lower level than the town of Shanklin and is famous for it’s small Gift Shops, Tea Rooms, Pubs & Restaurants.

The Rylstone Gardens are situated on the cliff top, with beautiful views of the southern tip of the island. It is a quiet, peaceful spot to take in the surrounding gardens.

Wining & Dining:

The Isle of Wight has an envious selection of eateries so you are spoilt for choice when it comes to a great meal for two. To push the boat out for that special occasion, try a romantic meal for two at one of the restaurants based within Shanklin town, or take a stroll along the seafront where you can enjoy stunning views over the bay and glorious sunsets of an evening.

For more relaxed dining, cosy up in one of our many traditional public houses – The Village Inn in Shanklin Old Village offers a roaring fire and consistently good local food.
