Public Transport (Bus, Train)

Island Line operates the eight and half miles of passenger railway on the Isle of Wight serving the Island towns of Ryde, Brading, Sandown, Lake and Shanklin. The Ryde Pier Head station connects with the Wightlink FastCat service from Portsmouth and the Ryde Esplanade station with Hovertravel's Southsea service.

Located on the beautiful Isle of Wight and capable of handling most GA aircraft, the Isle of Wight Airport at Sandown is a superb destination or staging post with the Aviator bar and restaurant offering all day high class dining. The runway length is in excess of 880m, avgas, flight planning and customs are available. Scheduled services to London and The Channel Islands operate from Sandown. Engineering services and hangarage are available at competitive rates.

The Cowes Chain Ferry connects West and East Cowes with a regular service across the River Medina. Passengers are carried free but there is a charge for motor vehicles.

The Dotto Train runs along a circular route from the Esplanade to the " Olde Village " and back to the Esplanade. It operates generally from April to October from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm daily during the holiday season and runs every 20 - 30 mins.
